Disability Achievement and Indigenous Student of the Year Finalist
Crystal Hardiman
Certificate III in Business, Loddon Shire Council
Crystal Hardiman, a Business Trainee with CVGT Employment, who works at Loddon Shire Council, has been nominated as a finalist in both the Disability Achievement and Indigenous Student of the Year categories at this year’s Apprentice Training Awards.
I chose to do a business traineeship after doing a number of supported workplace learning placements through my local school. My disability and learning difficulties are often seen as obstacles, but I focus on positivity and eagerness. Despite my disability, I always take on challenges, and my resilience has been key. In my Traineeship, people have been accepting and supportive. When things don’t go as planned, remember to stay positive and resilient.

Trainee of the Year Finalist
Cuiyan Wang
Certificate IV in Business, City of Greater Bendigo
Cuiyan Wang, a Business trainee with CVGT Employment, who works at City of Greater Bendigo, has been selected as a finalist for Trainee of the Year at this year’s Apprentice Training Awards.
I worked in administration overseas, but I didn’t have any administration experience in Australia since migrating. I didn’t want to give up on my dream job, so I aimed to gain practical experience, enhance my skills, and secure an admin role through the traineeship. Highlights throughout my traineeship have been to talk about my traineeship experiences to multicultural organisations Sister Works & LCMS & working on the Community Grants Program, the Zinda Festival in Bendigo and assisting with Bendigo multicultural calendar project.
