CVGT Australia’s community spirit 2017

Tuesday was a great day for many community groups when CVGT Australia rewarded applicants of the 2017 community grants program with thousands of dollars in assistance.

CVGT Australia Acting Deputy CEO Craig Canham said the company takes great pride in its support of community projects through the community grants program.

”We do this with a broader community picture in mind. CVGT’s promise is to deliver positive economic and social benefits to the community.

“Grants are available across all areas where CVGT operates, this year we have been able to support 15 groups making our communities better,” Mr Canham said.

This year’s recipients are:

  • Collingwood Toy Library – Expand their collection of role play and imaginative play materials and toys to facilitate the social and physical development of children
  • Maribyrnong Park Football – Assistance to start a female only program including purchase new jumpers and training coaches for their new roles
  • Bendigo Pre School – Purchase some quality art furniture and supplies to support the program
  • Bendigo Animal Welfare and Community Services – Assist disadvantaged pet owners via vet care support
  • Foundation 97 – Commence running a spinal cord injury support network
  • Friends of the Australian Botanic Gardens Shepparton – Young botanical explorer kits to provide visiting groups with equipment to enhance young children’s experience in nature
  • Spectrum Journeys – Provide a practical workshop for Dads of children on the Autism spectrum
  • Bendigo Masters Australian Football Club – Provide an outlet for men over 35 to maintain their mental and physical well being
  • Bendigo Mountain Bike Club – Supply and install a bike repair station
  • Leeton Girl Guides – Install a reverse cycle air conditioning unit
  • Discovery Science and Technology Centre – Support for a three month project to create a compliant policy framework which will make sure volunteers get the most for their time at discovery
  • Echuca Football Netball Club – Help with purchasing an enclosed trailer
  • Bendigo Ten pin Bowling – Equipment to run the newly developed Bowl Patrol program.
  • Bendigo Volunteer Resource Center – Information sessions for volunteers
  • Mooroopna Secondary College – Funding to support students with transport cost to community music events.

Each group to benefit from the community grants program was invited to attend a presentation afternoon tea.
