Local Youth to Showcase Artistic Flair
The artistic talent of local youth will be on show at CVGT’s Transition to Work Youth Art Exhibition. The event celebrates the diverse talent of young people in the region and aims to generate awareness of the Transition to Work (TTW) service, boost engagement with youth and their families and help young people to understand how they can access assistance.
The Youth Art exhibition was started as an innovative and creative way of engaging with participants of the program whilst also promoting the program and its success out into the community. This year they are asking the question ‘What does identity mean to me?’ and are calling for participants to submit a piece of original artwork and a 50-100-word response to this question.
Goulburn Murray CVGT’s TTW Manager, Angela Randall, is excited about this year’s event and hopes to reach a broad range of participants.
“The Youth Art Exhibition is an exciting event that will appeal to a range of young people as it’s a fantastic opportunity for those who have artistic talent to share their creativity with the community and receive recognition of their talents.”
With a focus on starting conversations with disengaged youth and their families, the aim of this event is also to create excitement around the $1000 in shared prizes and to encourage the youth of the region to explore their creativity and talents.
All original artworks of A3 size or smaller will be accepted. If artwork is larger or is three-dimensional, then a good quality printed photograph or series of photographs is acceptable. Written or digital art is also welcomed.
Entry is free for people aged between 13 and 21 who live in the Greater Shepparton region. Entries close at 5pm on Wednesday 30 October, 2019. Entries will be exhibited at the Shepparton Library on 1 November, followed by a launch where prizes will be awarded
