Traineeship ignites career opportunity

Mikhaela is a trainee with the City of Greater Bendigo. She works in the procurement team helping with the administration for contracts with contract facilitators.

Mikhaela enjoys her work and is undertaking a Certificate III in Business. “The people are really supportive and encourage improvement and learning, everyone is really friendly and is willing to help you in any way that they can.”

She hopes the qualification will help her with future jobs and opportunities within the City, “getting my name out there and gaining experience”.

Meanwhile, she finds her job satisfying and interesting. “I get to handle and see all contracts that happen in Bendigo, my home town, especially big constructions and small contracts that help Bendigo. It’s interesting to know what is happening in my town.”
