Wage subsidy extension to boost apprentice numbers
More apprentices and trainees have the potential to gain meaningful employment following the wage subsidy extension of the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements program to September 30 2021.
Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC) subsidises employers for up to 50 per cent of the gross wages of eligible apprentices and trainees, up to a maximum of $7000 per quarter. The national scheme is now uncapped, which is particularly good news for young people wanting an apprenticeship or traineeship. It had been capped at 100,000 places.
Employers who have already registered and signed up an eligible new apprentice or trainee post-October 5 last year, will receive up to 50 per cent of gross wages paid for the full first year.
Employers needing support in understanding the BAC scheme can contact CVGT Australia. Our Bendigo team also has a number of employers offering apprenticeships and traineeships. To discover your perfect employment phone 132 848.
