Have your say on Australia’s new Disability Services Act
The Australian Government is seeking your views to help inform the drafting of new legislation to replace the Disability Services Act 1986.
This law governs how services are provided for people with disability to improve their independence and participate in community and economic life.
The Act has not been significantly updated in more than 30 years so this is an important opportunity to have your say about how disability and disability services are defined into the future.
It especially wants to hear from people with disability, as well as their families, carers, and disability service providers.
Public consultation is open and closes at 11.59pm on Tuesday 20 December 2022.
Your response can be in any format such as online, in writing, even a video or audio response. You can share your own views or provide feedback on behalf of someone else.
From 10 November Information about the consultation is also available in Auslan and on November 15 it will be available in Easy Read format.
