ParentsNext program makes returning to work affordable for Melissa
Single mum Melissa joined the CVGT Employment ParentsNext program looking for support to “find a job that I am passionate about.”
Returning to work after being a stay-at-home parent
Melissa’s youngest child had just started school and like so many parents of school aged children she needed job flexibility.
Together, Melissa and her ParentsNext Transition Support Coach Skye explored potential career options. They soon found the perfect fit, entering Melissa into a Certificate IV in Disability and Aged Care.
Getting financial help to study
“We paid for Melissa’s course fee’s and purchased her a laptop to complete her course work at home,” said Skye, CVGT Employment Transition Support Coach.
“I would not have been able to afford the tuition fees or laptop on my own,” said ParentsNext participant Melissa.
Helping our participants financially, particularly when they’re a struggling single parent, is so important on their path to gaining qualifications.

“To complete her course, Melissa needed to do work placement, so we also purchased fuel vouchers for her to ease the financial burden.”

“I wouldn’t be where I am today without Skye and the support I have received from the CVGT Employment ParentsNext program.”
