About CVGT Employment

CVGT Employment (CVGT) is a not-for-profit organisation with an overarching purpose of supporting people to connect to meaningful employment.
Each year, the CVGT Board provides funds to support a Community Grant Program that will be aligned to a particular theme chosen annually to highlight and reflect CVGT values, mission and purpose.
The Community Grant Program is one of the ways CVGT celebrates local community organisations and the work they do supporting the communities in which we operate.
Successful organisations in the CVGT Community Grant Program will demonstrate alignment to the CVGT Employment values and the work we undertake.

About the Grant Application Assessment

How are grant submissions assessed?

Submissions from organisations that meet the eligibility criteria will be assessed through an open competitive selection process based on the following criteria:

  • how well the submission meets the assessment criteria
  • how it compares with other submissions
  • the extent to which it demonstrates evidence of being able to contribute to meeting some or all the outcomes/objectives of the funded activity
  • how the grant activity/project will align and offer collaboration with CVGT at the local level
  • how the grant activity/project will target and support the annual theme of the Grant Program.
Who assesses the grant submissions?

Each application is assessed by members of the internal CVGT Community Grant Recipient selection panel. Membership of this panel will be recommended by the Finance Sub Committee and approved by the Board and may consist of directors, senior managers and / or staff.

Panel members will be required to declare any interests relating to organisations applying for the Community Grants program, and any conflicts of interest arising will be managed in accordance with CVGT’s Conflict of Interest Policy.

Final approval of all successful submissions will be by the CVGT Board, through the CVGT Finance Sub Committee.

Grant letter of agreement

Successful applicants will be sent a grant letter of agreement to be signed and returned by the nominated due date, together with a tax invoice for the agreed amount.

CVGT will pay the funds to successful applicants within 14 business days of receipt of the signed letter of agreement and tax invoice.

Failure to return the signed letter of agreement and tax invoice by the due date will forfeit the grant.

Announcement and promotion of grants

CVGT will announce successful grant recipients once all letters of agreement and tax invoices have been received. A summary of successful grant recipients, including a brief description of the activity/project being supported will be published by CVGT.

CVGT will include successful recipients’ details in its annual report, social media, and other channels and as such CVGT reserves the rights to publicise and report on the Community Grant Program including details of:

  • The name of the organisation receiving the grant funds
  • The total amount of the grant allocated, and
  • The title or brief description of the activity or project for which the funds have been granted.

Use of the CVGT logo and promotional assets

Grant recipients must ensure that all publications, advertisements, promotional activities, and other public relations matters relating to the funded activity or project include the CVGT logo alongside their own.

Drafts of these materials must be shared with CVGT’s Marketing and Communication team prior to distribution. CVGT has the final say on any comment/material/assets intended to be made publicly available promoting the activity or project.

Should a grant recipient choose to publicise their success in the CVGT Grant Program, it is expected that CVGT be referenced in all publicity, including tagging CVGT Employment in any social media posts.

Keeping CVGT informed

Grant recipients are asked and expected to let CVGT know if anything is likely to affect delivery of the grant activity/project as set out in the letter of agreement.

If grant recipients become aware of a breach of any of the terms and conditions as outlined in the grant letter pf agreement, they must inform CVGT immediately.

Grant recipients are expected to submit a short report using the template supplied with the letter of agreement within thirty days of completion of the grant activity or project, or by the end of September the year following the grant allocation (whichever is sooner). This report will:

  • Identify if and how many outcomes have been achieved.
  • Outline any agreed evidence of outcomes or results of agreed activity/project.
  • Summarise the benefit of the funding received.

Grant agreement variations

CVGT recognises that unexpected events may occur and that these might affect the capacity of a grant recipient to deliver the activity/project proposed. In these circumstances grant recipients are asked to make immediate phone contact and follow up with a formal request via email to make a variation to the grant letter of agreement.

CVGT will consider requests for variations to the grant letter of agreement based on provisions set out in the agreement and the likely impact these have on achieving the intended outcomes.

Disclosure of information

Grant recipients must not, without CVGT’s prior approval, disclose any confidential information to a third party, research, or service delivery organisation according to Australian laws.

CVGT must not, without the grant recipient’s prior written approval, disclose any confidential information to a third party about the grant activity/project.
