Collaborating for a better environment
CVGT Australia is stepping up and taking a leadership role in the community’s efforts to tackle climate change.
The organisation has signed on to be part of the Greater Bendigo Climate Collaboration, which brings together a range of local community groups and businesses all committed to cutting carbon emissions.
The group’s aim is to push for net zero emissions across Greater Bendigo by 2030. The aim is to act and educate to:
- Help businesses, homes and schools to act on climate, plan for zero emissions and get involved in community projects.
- Run six community climate forums that bring us together to understand the zero emissions challenge and support and create city scale projects.
- Pull together regional stakeholders to identify and implement the top ten zero emissions projects for the region.
“At CVGT Australia, we have our own plan to achieve net zero emissions by 2030, so this project aligns closely with our own ambitions,” CVGT’s chief executive Jason Russell says.
“We want to show leadership by helping to tackle that is crucial to the future of our community.
“This is a fantastic initiative, being led by the City of Greater Bendigo, and we’re thrilled to be involved.”
