CVGT Echuca gives back with winter clothes donation
CVGT Australia’s Echuca office held a winter coat drive last month to collect warm clothes for people in the region who are homeless or in need of warm clothing.
Employment Consultant Tammy Sellwood organised the drive after visiting the Echuca Neighbourhood House.
“Echuca Neighbourhood House is one of our partner organisations. They have great services and initiatives to support people in the community and are fantastic to work with,” says Tammy.
“One of their initiatives is a winter coat drive. I thought this was something we could organise at our office and donate to the Echuca Neighbourhood House to distribute. We had a fantastic response and collected four boxes of clothes.
“We’re a not-for-profit, for-purpose charitable organisation and ‘Community matters’ is one of its core values.
“It’s important to give back to the community and show our commitment to supporting people in the places where we operate.
Tammy visited the Echuca Neighbourhood House earlier this month to donate the warm clothes to Echuca Neighbourhood House manager Sarah.
“We really appreciate the donation of winter clothes. We’ve seen a big increase in the number of people requiring assistance,” says Sarah.
“Without the support from locals and organisations we wouldn’t be able to keep helping the community.”
