Echuca rides with CVGT in our Move for Mental Health
Tammy and Kelsey from the CVGT Australia Echuca branch are our latest staff members to join us in the Move for Mental Health (M4MH).
CVGT Australia is a proud sponsor of the Bendigo Health Foundation’s M4MH initiative, helping raise funds for improved mental health services across the Loddon Mallee region of Victoria.
During October, Tammy and Kelsey are riding their bikes to and from work to raise funds under our CVGT Australia M4MH team page. Staff members can join the team for free.
Tammy is passionate about the cause and is enjoying the added benefits of improving her own health.
“I am taking part for my own mental health, because I find being more active improves my mood,” says Tammy.
“Mental health is something that affects our lives daily, so I think it’s important to encourage conversation and be there for others.
“I love riding in the mornings, the fresh air wakes you up and gets you ready for the day. The only negative is the magpie on my corner who has swooped me a few times!”
Twenty staff members have joined the CVGT Australia team and everyone is encouraged to get involved and make a pledge to do 15-20 minutes of exercise each day.
Mark Little, General Manager, Strategy and Communications for CVGT Australia, says sponsoring the initiative is a good way of giving back to some of the communities in which we operate.
“Community matters to us and it is important we provide support in any way we can. The Move for Mental Health is one way we can do this and it’s great to see many of our staff get involved,” says Mark.
“The Bendigo Health fundraising & foundation has wide reach, helping communities right across the Loddon Mallee region. This region reaches places like Mildura, lower NSW and even the outskirts of Melbourne, so the funds will help a lot of people in many locations we operate in.
“We are very proud to be a sponsor this year and encourage all staff to join the CVGT Australia team.”
Our fundraising goal was initially set at $500 but our team has already smashed that target, raising more than $1000. In response, we have lifted our goal to $1500 and we’d like to think that is well within our reach.
Thank you to everyone who has joined the team, sent photos and helped us to smash our goals so far.
