Mark returns home to find independence after mental health struggles
As they were for many people, the COVID-19 years were tough for Mark.
Feeling isolated, battling poor mental health and struggling with addictions, Mark worried he might never find employment again.
But with bucket loads of determination, resilience, and support from CVGT Employment, he is taking huge strides forward.
Mental health support
The first step Mark took was to leave his home in northern Tasmania to seek treatment in Victoria.
“During this period of time,” CVGT Employment consultant Courtney says, “Mark’s service period ended, and he wanted to continue to receive the specialised support provided by CVGT Employment.”
This positive attitude to finding a job and attending appointments soon paid off, with CVGT Employment helping him to rebuild his confidence and job readiness.
“Mark made the decision to directly register back with CVGT Employment Launceston when he returned home. His outlook on life had changed and he was really excited at the prospect of returning to the workforce.”

Finding meaningful work
With support from his consultant Courtney, Mark secured an interview with local group training organisation KEEN Partners.
“Mark’s genuine responses and positive attitude were exactly what we were looking for in a candidate and we knew he would be a great fit in the workplace.”

KEEN Partners
Fast forward six months and Mark is flourishing.
He has established himself via KEEN Partners with employer Confab Engineering and has reached his goal of saving up to buy a new car.
“Mark is a fantastic employee who is always willing to give something a go and give others a hand,” KEEN Partners Courtney Page says.
“He displays the true meaning of working as a team and is looked upon for guidance already.
“KEEN and Confab could not have found a better addition for their team.”
