Mutual obligation suspension extended for parts of COVID-affected NSW
The suspension of mutual obligation requirements for jobactive, Disability Employment Services and ParentsNext participants has been extended in parts of New South Wales, the federal government has announced.
The suspension will continue until Tuesday 31 August for participants in the Greater Sydney, Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong, and Shell Harbour regions.
It means no compliance action will be taken and no payments will be suspended in these areas.
The Department of Education, Skills and Employment still urged jobseekers to continue looking for work, saying it was a “fundamental requirement” for jobseekers.
Text messages were being sent being sent to those affected, the department said.
