ParentsNext makes ‘dream job’ possible for Tammy
When Tammy joined CVGT Employment ParentsNext in Wodonga, she needed support to re-enter the workforce. As a newly single Mum of two young girls, with no childcare in place and debt mounting she started to lose confidence in achieving her employment goals.
“I was feeling really low, my whole life had been flipped upside down,” Tammy says.
“I needed help. I needed someone to support me to get my life together, not just for me but for my kids.”
Tammy’s ParentsNext consultant Penny referred her to Wodonga TAFE Reconnect program and with the assistance of the ParentsNext participation fund she enrolled her into a Certificate III in Early Education and Care.
Tammy is so thankful for Penny and the ParentsNext program for helping her take that first step in her return-to-work journey.
“During appointments with Penny I felt very supported and understood. Even the small steps were acknowledged, and she was beyond attentive and helpful with what I needed for study.”
Whilst studying Tammy realised early education was not the right fit for her and soon found employment with Border Barber as an apprentice hairdresser. Penny supported her by using the ParentsNext participation fund to purchase tools and equipment.
“In the financial position I was in when I first started working, I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of Penny and ParentsNext.”
“I’ve been in my dream job for almost a year now and I’m absolutely loving it.” “I highly recommend ParentsNext for anyone needing that push to get their life together.”
