Support CVGT Wodonga in the fight against cancer at Border Relay For Life

From Saturday October 26 to Sunday October 27, the CVGT Employment Wodonga team will lace up their walking shoes to take strides against cancer at the Border Relay for Life. 

Border Relay For Life is a fun and moving experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention and support services. Relay is a chance for the community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, those going through a cancer experience and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost and to raise money to help save more lives.

This year, the team’s participation holds personal significance. In July 2024, Wodonga team member Denika lost her sister Brianna to advanced metastatic melanoma after a courageous seven-year battle. Brianna was just 32 years old. This loss is an emotional reminder of why the fight against cancer is so important.

Every member of the Wodonga team has been touched by cancer, either directly or indirectly. Cancer does not discriminate; it affects people of all ages, races, and backgrounds, bringing physical and emotional challenges that extend to families and friends.

In solidarity with those affected by cancer, the Wodonga team is dedicating their weekend to join the community in this crucial cause. They will be walking to raise funds and awareness for the Cancer Council.

Support the teams cause and help them reach their fundraising goal of $3000 by donating at CVGT Wodonga Relay for Life Fundraiser.

“We anticipate some sore bodies and tired eyes come Monday morning, but the effort will be worth it. Together, we can make a difference and help put an end to cancer,” says Denika.
