Support for hiring apprentices and trainees

Employers of apprentices and trainees could be eligible for up to 50 per cent of wage support, to a maximum $7000 per quarter, under a new Federal Government incentive.

The $1.2 billion Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC) wage scheme is available to all employers who hire or re-engage an apprentice or trainee between October 5 and September 30, 2021, regardless of geographic location, occupation, industry or size of the business.

The BAC scheme is not available for any apprentice or trainee receiving other wage subsidies, such as Supporting Apprentices and Trainees or JobKeeper.
