Thank you for a wonderful 2023
Opening Doors – creating amazing futures is the vision for CVGT Employment, and 2023 was our first full year of this clearly articulated vision being in place. We also celebrated our 40th anniversary with our new look and brand, CVGT Employment.
Despite the challenges posed by a busy year, our team has stood strong in the face of external pressures like the rising cost of living and low unemployment rates.
We thrive in such circumstances, embracing the opportunity to create innovative solutions and provide people with meaningful employment.

Let’s look back at some of the highlights
“This year has seen CVGT Employment emerge from the uncertainty of COVID-19 as a flexible, focused organisation, working with our stakeholders to deliver quality service outcomes for participants and striving to achieve our vision: Opening doors – creating amazing futures.“
– Elizabeth Corbett, CVGT Employment Director
40 years strong
In 2023, CVGT Employment celebrates 40 years of operation, supporting thousands of people into employment across a range of employment programs.
Starting in 1983 with one employee supporting 15 apprentices in Bendigo, CVGT Employment now employs over 400 people across three states in over 100 locations.
“CVGT Employment helped me be patient and we finally found ‘my’ job.“
– Andrew, SDET Participant
Proudly recognised as an inclusive employer
Diversity Council of Australia (DCA) announced on 6 November, as part of Inclusion at Work Week, the list of 82 organisations who have been recognised as Inclusive Employers for 2023 – 2024. CVGT Employment is honoured to be on this year’s list.
“Inclusion and diversity are integral to our culture and how we live our values. As an employment services provider, reflecting the diversity of the people we support, and our communities enables us to better understand and respond to their needs, ”says Fleur Cousins, CVGT Employment General Manager.

Celebrating YConnect
We reached the end of the YConnect program on Friday 6 October. We want to look back at some of the wonderful achievements of the program and our YConnect participants.
The YConnect program, supported by Jobs Victoria, focused on helping young people discover the working world.
“I encourage other businesses to partner with CVGT Employment – you can trust that they will listen to what you are looking for.”
– Indika Bamiwewa, Battery Services Australia Operations Manager
Supporting critical flood recovery in our communities
“This year, with so many communities impacted by devastating floods, the CVGT Employment Board wanted to target and extend our reach to organisations offering material aid, counselling and/or financial assistance to those in the affected areas,”says Elizabeth Corbett, CVGT Employment Director.
“Based on the recommendations of our staff on the ground, $200,000 was provided to 45 organisations and service outlets where CVGT Employment has a presence.”
It was with great pleasure that fellow board members and I visited many of the recipients to see firsthand the invaluable work undertaken by them, and to learn how our donations have impacted their individual programs and projects, “Elizabeth says.
Speed interviewing gains momentum
Hosting a speed interviewing event enables job seekers to practice their interviewing skills with the possibility to land a job. For employers, the event gives access to job ready people saving them recruitment time and money.
With the continued success of our Launceston speed interviewing event in May, now in its fifth year, we launched the concept for both Devonport and Bendigo.
“At times in my life where I was at my lowest, the people at CVGT would always encourage support me in a positive and helpful way.”
– Jade, Workforce Australia Participant
We couldn’t have accomplished anything without the backing of our partners and community. So, from all of us at CVGT Employment, thank you for a wonderful 2023.
We hope you and your loved ones enjoy a safe, happy and restful Christmas and New Year break.
We are looking forward to 2024 and seeing how employment services may further evolve to provide a better service and outcomes for the most vulnerable people in our communities.
